About Us

Renowned for its dynamic repertoire and uniquely resonant sound,

the Princeton Roaring 20 is Princeton University's

award-winning, premier co-ed a cappella group.

In 1983, the Roaring 20 was founded as an all-male, jazz-centric group called “The Cat’s Meow." Co-ed since the spring of 1984, the group's repertoire has since evolved to include a wide range of genres, but founding jazz classics persist as long-time favorites.

Entirely student-run, the Roaring 20 rehearses regularly on campus and tours extensively both in the United States and abroad, with recent trips to Paris, San Francisco, Madrid, and more. The group has produced seven studio albums, won accolades such as Best Musical Arrangement at the ICCA Mid-Atlantic Regional Quarter-final, and has made notable appearances in venues like the Kennedy Center and in shows such as "The Price Is Right." Their harmonious blend and community spirit make them a beloved fixture in Princeton’s arts scene.

Auditions are held for freshmen and sophomores in the fall and spring. For information about auditioning for R20, please visit our auditions page. For general inquiries about the group, Contact Us.
